the truth?! an email from Iraq

It's difficult in this time to find people going in Iraq by themselves, i mean journalists of this time use to go to Iraq with the army of their country...
Today i received an email from a friend of mine, he is danish and he was in Damascus before. Then he was mad thinking about the situation in Iraq. Syria is near the iraqi border is not so distant so he went. I received this mail and even if he is not a journalist but a novelist i admire him and his spirit, because it is the spirit of research: to research something in which u can believe because you can trust your eyes:
"Dear Manu,
how good it is to hear from you. I miss you a lot, and you will definitely
see me soon. I just have to make it through this hell hole they call
Baghdad and I call the 53rd state. It's an occupation and it is ugly.
Hell, what can you do. I try to write, and again I try to be honest and
tell some kind of truth, but I'm afraid, again, people won't understand.
Yes, I miss you, and I miss the guys too. It was all a little strange
after you left, and my mind was in Baghdad and in my novel, and the guys
had all their girls in the country. You know how it is. I'll send you some
of the novel soon, and you can judge for you try to understand.I hope you are well and happy in Italy. The oldest city in the world
misses you, and I guess it misses me too. Let us meet there soon."
The truth, the truth...Occupation or trying to help the Iraqis? Confusion and Power and the oil? and young soldiers run in the mission for money and someone believes to help iraqi population...Which kind of game is this war? Why Knowledge of several facts can't stop this massacre? No answers, just questions.
